Nail Art: Glitter Placement

glitter placement nail art essence picture polish swagger tiffany

As much as I loved the last manicure I posted, I picked up these glitters from the Essence - Yes, We POP! collection and I couldn't wait to try them out.  I've never attempted a glitter placement mani before, and I have to say it was much easier than I thought it would be.  Bonus!

The base colours are both by piCture pOlish.  On my pointer and pinky is their shade Tiffany, a gorgeous mint creme.  On my ring, middle and thumb is Swagger.  What a name, ha!  This blue is absolutely gorgeous, and I've resolved to wear it alone someday to really let it shine.

To place the glitter, I used an extra coat of my base coat Essie Grow Faster, and placed each piece, starting at the bottom of the nail, with a toothpick.  As I mentioned above, these are from the Essence - Yes, we POP! collection nail art effect set glitters 02.  The glitters actually look pink when off the nail, but as you can see they're pretty translucent.  Very cool!  I topped everything off with a coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl - three coats on the glitter nails, actually.

You might have noticed that I changed nail shape today!  I'm back to square, after a long love affair with squoval.  What do you think?

Have you ever tried a glitter placement manicure?  Do you have any tips?
