Stamping Nail: Let It Snow!

After a nice few cooler days here down under, the sun has popped back out to warm us up again.  I love a hot summer's day, but this manicure is a tribute to the complete opposite, a weather event that actually doesn't occur where I live: snow!

I've reverted to my trusty OPI Nail Envy for a basecoat, as the more sharp-eyed reader might note
the breakage right down low on my thumbnail in this image.  I am hoping and praying that it doesn't split all the way across, because ouchies!  I'll just have to baby it for a few weeks, hmm?

The colour I used is an old Essence one called Over The Rainbow.  It's a really odd colour, to be perfectly honest with you!  A frosty light blue, it's almost a duochrome, with hints of purple or green at certain angles.  Some brushstrokes are visible on the nail, and I used three coats for full opacity.  I knew I couldn't wear it alone, though...

So I added some stamping from my BP-01 plate from bornprettystore.com.  With Christmas right around the corner, snowflakes are popping up in nail art everywhere!  The polish I used is Essie's No Place Like Chrome.  I also added some baby pearls in light blue and a opalescent rhinestone as an accent.  All these can be purchased from the Born Pretty Store online at bargain basement prices, with free shipping!

I sealed everything off with a coat of Glisten&Glow HK Girl and haven't been able to keep my eyes off my nails since.

Do you like snowflakes on your nails?  Are you a stamper or a freehand kind of girl?
