Nail Art: Reverse Stamping

Phew, getting back into the swing of things.  This mani I actually wore quite some time ago, as you'll see in my next post... my nails are nubs now!  Was the holiday period tough on your nails too?

I used quite a few polishes to achieve this look, but let's talk about the stamping plate first. It's BP L003, one of the new larger plates by the Born Pretty Store. There are so many images on this plate that I adore!  I can see it will become a fast favourite.  I stamped onto my Messy Mansion stamper in Sally Hansen White On, and allowed the stamp to dry.

Once it was dry, I used a copmbination of Ulta3 Radiant Orchid, Ulta3 Palette Play, Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Blue Away, Chi Chi Mile High Club, OPI Mod About You, essence Off To Miami! and BK 06 to fill in the design.  Once that was dry, I added two coats of top caot and waited for it to dry.

While I was waiting, I painted my middle finger in White On, and then a good four coats of BK 06.  This is a glow in the dark nail polish, and I wish I'd gotten glow shots for you!  Next time.  My thumb and pinkie are done in Radiant Orchid, and the silver (where is that gold tint coming from? It's silver, I swear!) is OPI This Gown Needs A Crown. I finished those nails off with the little round pink studs, also from the Born Pretty Store.

Once my reverse stamping was dry, I peeled it gently off my stamper, applied a thin layer of top coat (Glisten and Glow HK Girl) to my ring finger, and pressed on the decal.  It was all cleaned up with acetone and everything sealed with another coat of top coat.

What do you think of this design?  Are you rushing out to purchase this stamping plate?
